About
Pamela Pascual is an emergent strategist and systems thinker working in the intersection of technology and design. Her work explores the relationship between architecture, blockchain and regenerative ecologies.
She graduated with an architecture degree from California College of the Arts in San Francisco in 2013. After an artist-in-residency program at Autodesk’s Pier 9, she worked for a small residential architecture firm while also doing experience design for events such as the Minecraft Convention, Super Bowl on Embarcadero and a speaker building workshop for Sonos in New York.
In 2015, after learning about the potential of blockchain technology in Berlin she left architecture to work as a user experience researcher at a Brooklyn-based venture studio firm, Consensys. Her experience at Consensys informed her decision to focus and connect around a creative community interested in using technology for social infrastructure and as a tool to address social, ecological, and economic justice.
In 2019, she started a non-profit called Amber Initiative to re-imagine new systems that connect resources to empower cooperative communities and living systems. These projects are community-led experiments ranging from mesh networks, citizen science labs, makerspaces, and regenerative agriculture.
Pam lives in Portland, Oregon.

NFTrees is her newest project, which aims to allow people and communities to use Non-Fungible token technologies to bank with trees, re-entering nature and culture to community and place.
